Nervous System & Reflexes

Take a slow, easy breath and settle into this gentle beginning to From Womb to World.

In this meditative introduction, Hela invites you to soften, listen, and reconnect with your body’s natural rhythm.

Through mindful breathing and compassionate reflection, you’ll open the door to understanding the nervous system as a living story—one that holds our experiences, emotions, and capacity for healing.

This is your invitation to explore neurodiversity and self‑compassion through a lens that honors body, mind, and soul.

“From Womb to the World” is a 3‑minute meditative journey through the very first movements of life — the ancient reflexes that shape our nervous system long before we take our first step.

In this Part 1 of the Hela Method series, we explore: How the baby’s body “speaks” through archetypal movements in the womb Why reflexes like the Moro reflex are survival bridges between safety and the unknown How early touch, holding, and floor time help organize the brain and nervous system Why many of our adult patterns begin in those silent months before birth This video is designed to be felt as much as understood.

You can simply listen with your eyes closed, or watch the visuals while you connect to your own earliest story stored in the body. If you’re a parent, therapist, or on a healing journey, this is an invitation to meet yourself — and your children — with more compassion. The body knew what to do before the mind had words for any of it.

✨ Hela Method – From Womb to the World (Part 1) New parts in this series will go deeper into reflex integration, movement, and nervous system healing. If this resonates, please like, subscribe, and share it with someone who is healing their story from the very beginning. Tell me in the comments: What did your body feel while listening to this?

Until now, we’ve spoken about reflexes, the nervous system, and co-regulation as interconnected pieces. In this episode, we bring them together into one unified framework: Neuro-Reflex System (NRS) Theory.

NRS Theory explores how primitive reflexes and the autonomic nervous system function as one living system—constantly reading the environment and asking a single question: Am I safe, or am I in danger? From the womb through adulthood, this system shapes how we move, breathe, respond emotionally, and relate to the world around us.

Reflexes are not just early movements we “grow out of.” They are foundational units of neurodevelopment that continue to influence regulation, behavior, learning, and healing across the lifespan.

In this episode, I introduce: What the Neuro-Reflex System is How reflexes and the autonomic nervous system share the same pathways and triggers Why many behaviors we label as “emotional” or “behavioral” are actually protection responses A real-world example through premature birth and early nervous system overwhelm Why touch, voice, and attuned presence are not extras—but essential support for healing This teaching is offered in a slower, more intentional learning rhythm—designed to support understanding, embodiment, and integration, not overload. You’re invited to listen with presence, allowing the material to land in both mind and body.

✨ This is Part 1 of the NRS Theory introduction. In the next episode, we’ll explore how this system expresses itself through stress and recovery patterns. If this resonates, subscribe for future episodes as we continue unfolding NRS Theory and its application for children, parents, and practitioners. This episode is also available in audio format on Spotify.
