The HELA Method™
Reflex and Nervous System Regulation through Developmental, Somatic, and Sensory Systems
Moving beyond symptoms and diagnoses to understand development through the nervous system and the relational environment in which people grow, regulate, and connect.

The Day Out Program
Friendship, self-expression, and independence, built around what you love.
The Day Out Program helps students from middle school age through adulthood who are capable and independent-minded but still find friendship, managing big emotions, and expressing themselves hard. Through one-on-one coaching and small groups built around shared interests, each person builds real friendships and the confidence to live independently, with friends they enjoy.
Who This Is For:
Neurodivergent and neurotypical participants alike, from middle school age through adulthood. A diagnosis is not required, and the program is not limited to autism.
How it works
1 — Find your interest
2 — Begin one-on-one with a coach
3 — Meet your match
4 — Grow into a group
We start by discovering what each person truly loves, whether that's art, drama, fitness, or something entirely their own.
Each person first works individually with a coach on their interest, building confidence and self-expression.
We pair each person with a partner who shares and values their interest. Together they become steady, supportive companions who help each other stay grounded.
Pairs join others built on the same principle, creating a community of friends who enjoy each other's interests.
The goal
Independent living with friends, and the joy of sharing each other's interests.
Where and how to join
The Day Out Program is a 4-month program held in person at our Newport Beach office, two to three times a week. We never see a person in isolation, so parents are part of the process, with additional online coaching with Hela.
Everyone joins the same way:
-
1) book a 30-minute consultation with Hela,
-
2) complete the Foundation Course for parent,
-
3) begin.
